Country Boy .22 Rimfire Indoor League

Discipline for:  Rifle

FOR 2017 WE WILL RUN THE INDOOR 22 ALL YEAR ROUND.  THE MATCHES ARE HELD EVERY THURSDAY EVENING AT 6:00PM.  

NOTE:.   There will not be a match held on Thanksgiving Day in November.  Instead they will shoot on the Wednesday prior.  Also there will not be a match held on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day if they fall on a Thursday.  Instead they will shoot on the Tuesday prior.  Matches are held at the main club house and begin at 6:00pm.  Ammunition is furnished by Kettlefoot for all Classes except “Target Unlimited and Unlimited Class Rifles“.  Those participants will provide their own ammunition.  Unused club furnished ammunition rounds should be returned to the Range Officer

Rifles are limited to .22 long rifle only - no .22 magnums.

  1. Events 1 thru 7 will be fired at 100 feet (33 1/3 yards).
  2. Events 1 thru 7, each participant will shoot two (2) matches before leaving assigned bench.
  3. Match A will be targets 1A thru 5A (Left Side).
  4. Match B will be targets 1B thru 5B (Right Side).
  5. Each side will be scored individually for a maximum of 50 points and 5X per side.  NOTE:The exception to this rule will be Open Class with a Maximum of 50 points per side and no X’s.  Example:  Match A the winner will be determined by targets 1B 5B.  In the event ties cannot be resolved in this manner, the match purse will be split 50% - 50%.  Total scores will not be used to resolve ties.
  6. At sign-in, each participant will draw for a bench number for each individual class.  If two or more participants are sharing equipment, one of those sharing may draw for all who are sharing the same equipment.
  7. Bolts must be removed from rifles at all times.  If the Bolt cannot be removed, actions must be open and a safety flag inserted in the chamber.  Bolts cannot be inserted or flags removed until participant is seated at the bench and the Rangemaster calls “Insert Bolts/Remove Flags”.  Bolts must be removed and Flags re-inserted before leaving the bench.
  8. A Time Limit of (15) Minutes is allotted for practice and score for each Target in all classes.
  9. Time Will be monitored by the Rangemaster.  Time remaining will be announced at 10 minutes, 5 minutes, and 2 minutes.
  10. If all participants have completed firing before the 15 minute limit has elapsed, the Rangemaster may call a cease fire.
  11. Participants are to remain seated at assigned benches until the Rangemaster calls Cease Fire and the Firing Line has been made Safe.
  12. Participants will be issued 15 rounds per calss, 5 for Practice and 10 for Score. &nbspUnused rounds must be returned to the Rangemaster
  13. Any Target except Unlimited and Target Unlimited containing more than 15 bullet holes will be disqualified.  There is no limit on the number of practice rounds for Target Unlimited and Unlimited.
  14. Any single scoring Bull with more than 1 bullet hole will receive a score of Zero.  The Only Exception is Open Class Targets that have only 2 bulls.
  15. Open-Sight Rifle Class Requirements

    1. Sporter-type rifles only (target and/or custom rifles are not allowed).
    2. Rifle barrel diameter at the muzzle cannot exceed 0.650 inches.
    3. Rifle must have a working safety.
    4. Rifle stock, action, trigger assembly, and barrel must be the original factory cataloged rifle.
    5. Rifle barrels may be free-floated, actions bedded; trigger-pull can be lightened but the original trigger must be used.
    6. Rifle sights must be “Open VEE” or “Buch-Horn” shaped.  No “peep-sights” are allowed.  Rifles with see through mounted scopes are not allowed.

    Note:  The rifle must be fired from filled cloth or leather bags, front and rear.  No mechanical rests are allowed.  Rifle value cannot exceed $500.00 USD.  Rifle value will be determined from “The Blue Book of Gun Values, 29th Edition“, by S.P. Fjestad.

    Open Sight Unlimited Class Requirements

    1. Any Factory or Custom built rifle.
    2. Any Open or Peep steel sights.  No scopes of any type.
    3. Any type rest may be used.  Rifle may not be attached to the rest unless bipods are used.

Plinker Rifle Class Requirements

  1. Sporter-type rifles only (target and/or custom rifles are not allowed).
  2. Rifle barrel diameter at the muzzle cannot exceed 0.650 inches.
  3. Rifle must have a working safety.
  4. Rifle stock, action, trigger assembly, and barrel must be the original factory cataloged rifle.
  5. Rifle barrels may be free-floated, actions bedded and trigger pull can be lightened but the trigger must be original.
  6. Variable power scopes must be adjusted to not more than ten (10X) and sealed — the Range Officer must verify this.  The use of anything greater than ten (10X) for scope power will automatically be disqualified.

Note:  The rifle must be fired from filled cloth or leather bags, front and rear.  No mechanical rests are allowed.  Rifle value cannot exceed $500.00 USD.  Rifle value will be determined from “The Blue Book of Gun Values, 29th Edition“, by S.P. Fjestad.

Sporter Rifle Class Requirements

  1. Sporter-type rifles only (target , silhouette and/or custom rifles are not allowed).
  2. Rifle barrel diameter at the muzzle cannot exceed 0.750 inches.
  3. Rifle must have a working safety.
  4. Stock factory original (no outside contour alterations allowed), action, trigger assembly and barrel must be original factory cataloged rifle.
  5. No External “anti-vibration” devices, such as a Hoehn tuner, are allowed.
  6. There’s no limitation for scope power.

Note:  The rifle must be fired from filled cloth or leather bags at rear.  Detached mechanical rests are permitted.  We Do Not allow attached rests, such as bipods, etc..

Target Rifle Class Requirements

  1. All rifles must be Factory cataloged rifles.  No custom rifles.
  2. Rifle stock, action, and barrel must be the same make and model number.  No custom stocks.
  3. There’s no limitation for scope power.
  4. No External “anti-vibration” devices, such as barrel tuners, are allowed.

Target Unlimited Class Requirements

Rules are the same as Target Class with the following exceptions:

  1. Rifle may be fired from any filled bag, mechanical non-attached or bi-pod style rest.
  2. Participant will furnish their own ammunition.
  3. Types of rilfe to be found in this class include, but are not limited to: Remington 40X, Winchester 52, Remington 37, and others.

Unlimited Rifle Class Requirements

  • Rules are the same as Target Unlimited Class except the Rifle can be any factory or custom built rile.
  • Note:  The rifle must not be attached to a rest (except for bipods).  Permanently affixed rests such as rail guns are not allowed.


    The cost for club members and non-members is $5.00 USD per Class.   The cost for Junior Associate Members (age 18 and under) is $3.00 USD.  The cost for Junior Shooters (age 18 and under) who are Guests or not an Associate Member of Kettlefoot is also $3.00 USD.  Fees will be dispersed $2.00 USD per Class.  $1.00 USD to each Match winner.  The remainder allocated to Kettlefoot to defray expenses.
